Cynthia Walker will tell you that she had always planned to “get something done” when she turned 65. So, when the time came, she did her research, found her doctor online, checked out his work, went in for a consultation and decided he was the one. She hasn’t looked back since.
“Mother Nature sneaks up on you when you least expect it,” she says. “You take a look in the mirror and say, is that me?” Athletic by temperament (she runs marathons), Cynthia couldn’t stand how time had aged her looks. “I’m not being conceited, but I work damn hard to be in good physical shape, so why not take that extra step to look better?”
Today Cynthia—whose husband passed away near five years ago—is starting a new life for herself. She has gotten work as a model, learned how to fence and is taking dance lessons. “This has set the foundation to make me a happier senior citizen. I’m getting out there and meeting people. I’m taking ‘shag’ dance lessons, which is like the old jitter bug. Next I think I’ll learn the tango.”
