What is a “liquid” facelift and can you substitute it for the traditional facelift?

Jan 06, 2011 No Comments

The liquid facelift is a lift of the cheeks and jowl areas using fillers. The fillers used can be anything from Restylane, Juvéderm and Perlane to Radiesse and Sculptra. Most consumers don’t realize that with adequate reinflation of lost volume in the cheeks and jowls, many people achieve something that is much like a facelift, but better. While a facelift tightens, the problem is that volume has been lost and is never regained unless volume is “injected.” After a facelift, the structure and possibility of normal volume correction is nearly impossible. The downside of the liquid lift is mainly cost, but the time that doesn’t have to be spent in recovery is a huge benefit that nearly outweighs it for many patients.
