I have trouble understanding all the names and concentrations for chemical facial peels: TCA, AHA peels, Jessner’s peels, Obagi, etc. How do you know what’s best for the face?

It depends on your skin type. Different levels of peels are indicated for different skin concerns. If your goal is to improve pores and acne, superficial peels with glycolic acid or Jessner’s peels may suffice. If you have mild to moderate wrinkles and/or hyperpigmentation, medium-strength TCA peels and Jessner’s peels are most appropriate. For severe wrinkles, Phenol peels give the most dramatic results.
