The Practice

Dr. Walter Tom has been active in emerging medical and cosmetic technology in the North Bay area for over two decades. He co-founded the Kidney Transplant program at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital as Chief Surgeon in 1986. In the 1990s he helped establish laparoscopic minimally invasive abdominal surgery in Sonoma County, where in 2000 he began using Photofacial intense pulsed light therapy for treatment of facial aesthetic concerns. In 2003, he performed the first non-surgical endovenous laser vein ablation in the North Bay area, and in 2007 was one of the first surgeons to introduce laser liposuction to Northern California. He now trains physicians throughout the country in laser liposuction techniques, and has introduced breast augmentation and tummy tucks performed completely under local tumescent anesthesia to the North Bay area.

Dr. Tom created the Aesthetic Laser & Vein Center of the North Bay in Santa Rosa, CA, in 1999. Later, in December 2004, along with Kathy Patten, RN, he opened the Aesthetic Laser & Vein Center of Napa. Both centers offer minimally invasive cosmetic procedures that enhance one’s natural beauty. Dr. Tom and his staff treat each patient as a valuable individual with genuine care and respect.
